Vision, Mission and Strategy
developed together

Many organisations know what they do. Few know precisely where they are headed and why that matters to everyone. We help you create direction that doesn’t disappear into a folder — but holds up in everyday work.

Direction creates clarity

When everyone understands vision and strategy the same way, everyday decisions become easier. Coordination through shared direction rather than control.

11 years of practical experience

We have guided direction-setting processes in SMEs, cooperatives and growing organisations. What works has been distilled into a clear approach.

Results that last

No PowerPoint gathering dust in a drawer. You receive documents and formats you actually use day to day. And a team that stands behind them.

Why Direction

When clear direction
makes the difference

Organisations grow, teams get larger and decisions become more complex. At this point, informal consensus is no longer enough. Those who are aligned make decisions faster, coordinate more easily and lose less energy in endless rounds of discussion.

01
Vision: Where do we want to go?

A vision gives direction without prescribing every step. It answers the question of why the organisation will still exist in five or ten years and what it will have achieved in the world. Well formulated, it attracts people and provides orientation in times of uncertainty.

02
Mission: Why do we do what we do?

The mission describes the core purpose of the organisation. It is not a description of a product, but the answer to the question of what difference the organisation makes for clients, employees and society. A good mission is honest and concrete.

03
Strategy: What do we do first?

Strategy is prioritisation. It defines which areas to focus on, which to consciously leave aside, and how the organisation intends to move forward over the next one to three years. Strategy without prioritisation is not a plan — it is a wish list.

For whom is direction work useful?
Organisations that are growing and find that informal coordination no longer works
Owners and management preparing a generational transition or handover
Teams following a merger, rebranding or strategic realignment
Leaders who want to embed more ownership within their teams
Organisations that want to review and update an existing strategy
Organisations introducing Collegial Leadership and needing a shared foundation
Note:

We support direction-setting processes regardless of whether an organisation is collegially led or traditionally managed. What matters is the leadership team’s willingness to engage honestly with these questions. Direction work pairs well with leadership development or the Executive Board Meeting Zurich.

Impact

What changes
when direction is clear

Organisations that take direction work seriously report similar changes. Not overnight, but noticeably within a few months.

Faster decisions

When it is clear where the organisation is headed, everyday decisions become easier. Many rounds of alignment fall away because the shared direction serves as a reference. Instead of “Let’s discuss this,” the question becomes “Does this fit our strategy?”

Greater ownership

Employees who know where the organisation is going and why take on more responsibility. They need fewer instructions because they can align their own decisions with the shared direction.

Clearer prioritisation

Many organisations struggle with too many initiatives running at once. An explicit strategy helps to say no: to projects that don’t fit the picture, and to opportunities that sound good but distract from the path.

Stability during transitions

During generational handovers, periods of growth or turbulent market phases, clear direction provides stability. It protects against short-term course changes and strengthens the confidence of everyone involved in leadership.

We always had a sense of where we wanted to go. After the process, we finally wrote it down. That sounds simple, but it changed a lot.

Owner, manufacturing SME Company Direction, 2024

The two workshop days brought more clarity than a year of internal discussions. Now everyone on the team knows what the priorities are.

CEO, service company Strategy process, 2023

The process helped us let go of old assumptions and articulate what drives us. We feel that now in recruiting too.

Note:

Direction work only works when the leadership team is willing to make real decisions. We create the space for that. The courage is yours to bring.

Our Approach

How we work
Three phases, one outcome

Every direction-setting process is different. The structure below has proven itself across many organisations. We adapt it to your situation — in terms of depth, format and pace.

01
Preparation
1–2 weeks

We get to know your organisation, its history and the current situation. We conduct brief interviews with key people and prepare the workshop material.

  • Kick-off conversation
  • Short interviews (optional)
  • Workshop design
02
Workshop
1–2 days

Together with your leadership team, we develop vision, mission and strategic priorities. We facilitate the process, challenge assumptions and ensure that real decisions are made.

  • Vision and mission development
  • Strategic priorities
03
Documentation and transfer
1–2 weeks

We document the results in a clear, usable format and support you in communicating the direction internally — to the team, the board or other stakeholders.

  • Communication support
  • Follow-up conversation (optional)
What you receive
Concrete documents — not just good intentions

Available formats
1-day intensive workshop

For organisations that want to move quickly and already have a solid foundation. Focused, efficient, with clear results by the end of the day.

2-day process with the leadership team

For organisations that want to go deeper and involve the full leadership team. More space for discussion, reflection and genuine alignment.

Modular process over several months

For organisations in complex situations or with a large leadership team. The process is broken into stages — with time to test and refine between sessions.

Strategy review

For organisations with an existing strategy that needs reviewing. We assess what still holds, what needs updating and where new priorities are needed.
